Use saved contacts and Discover together

Contacts has two jobs. Saved contacts hold the people your organization already works with. Discover searches supplier representatives who chose to be discoverable in Tap.

A Discover result is based on the representative current Tap profile. Tap does not infer a private email address or phone number. Open the profile to review the represented organization and properties before saving it.

Discover a supplier representative

Open Contacts, choose Discover contacts, and search by person, supplier, property, market, or relevant profile detail. Open a result for the full public profile.

Save the representative when the relationship is useful to your organization. A saved contact can later appear in recipient selection and relationship messaging. If the person changes their discoverability or representation, rely on their current profile rather than an old search result.

The Tap Agent can search the same discoverable directory when you ask who to contact at a publisher. It should direct you back to Contacts for review, save, or message.

Maintain a saved contact

Open a contact to review and edit the relationship record. Keep the name, organization, role, email, phone, notes, and relationship details accurate. A saved manual contact is not automatically a verified Tap profile.

When a current Tap person is linked, use the in-product message action for the private relationship thread. Messaging a contact does not add them to an RFP or send commercial terms.

Import contacts from CSV

Use the import sheet for a batch of buyer-side supplier contacts. Match the required columns, review validation errors, and confirm the parsed rows before import. Duplicate or incomplete records are reported instead of silently replacing unrelated contacts.

For the complete file format and recovery steps, read Import contacts.

Use contacts in transactions

Contacts can support:

  • selecting broadcast RFP recipients where the contact represents an eligible Supplier Property;
  • saving a discoverable supplier representative;
  • private relationship messaging;
  • keeping relationship context outside one Plan;
  • reviewing supplier partner invitations and offers shown in Contacts.

A contact is not permission. The selected Supplier Property, current directory eligibility, and send approval still control an RFP.

Fix common problems

  • Discover returns no result: broaden the query. Only current discoverable Tap profiles are returned.
  • Save fails: refresh the profile in case its organization or representation changed.
  • Message is unavailable: the contact may not be linked to a current Tap person or organization.
  • CSV row is rejected: correct the reported field and re-import the clean file.
  • Duplicate record: edit the existing contact instead of creating another copy.
