Use these settings to decide how much of a client's approved budget is available for media and how charges appear on their proposal. They do not change the supplier's rates.
Supplier rates and Deals on Tap are net of agency fees. In other words, the media price does not include your agency commission. Add your agency's commission through the client budget settings when it should form part of the client's approval.
The Tap fee is separate from agency commission. The standard platform fee is 3.5% of net media cost; check Team → Settings → Billing for the rate applicable to your organization. Buyer Order totals include the applicable Tap fee. Per-spot prices and supplier CPMs remain net media prices.
The Tap fee applies to media sourced through Tap, including when you record a booking made outside Tap. Suppliers bill the media; Tap bills its platform fee. Your agency handles its own client commission arrangement.
An organization administrator can open Team → Settings → Client budgets. Under Budget allocation, review these settings:
Choose Save client budget defaults when finished. Unless your organization has changed them, both budget-inclusion settings and campaign commission overrides start off.
Commission is a share of the media cost including commission, rather than a simple percentage added to net media. At 15% commission, $85 of net media becomes $100 including commission: $85 for the supplier and $15 for the agency. The Tap fee is calculated separately on the $85 of net media.
For example, with a $100,000 approved budget, a standard 3.5% Tap fee, and 15% agency commission, including both charges leaves approximately:
The total remains $100,000. If both charges are outside the approved budget, the full $100,000 is available for media and those charges are handled separately. Your proposal preview shows the amounts for your actual buy and applicable rate.
Open the client record. In Client workspace, a connected client has Client financial overrides. An administrator can change the inclusion settings, standard commission, campaign override permission, and default visibility for that client.
Only the settings you change override the organization defaults. Choose Use organization defaults to clear the client's overrides. A permitted campaign commission override takes precedence over the client rate for that campaign.
Under Client confirmation, set the default presentation:
Fee itemization options appear when the corresponding charge is included. Turning itemization off does not remove a charge or reduce the approval total. Included charges that are not individually itemized appear together as Fees and services. The complete Total approval is always visible. CPM starts on and unit pricing starts off unless your organization or client settings change them.
Open Share proposal in the campaign. Review Client approval preview, including media investment, included charges, unallocated budget, and total approval. The preview identifies which settings come from the organization, client, or campaign.
Use Campaign commission if overrides are allowed. Under Client visibility, you can choose fee itemization, CPM, and unit pricing for this proposal. These presentation choices do not change the supplier's prices or what fits within the budget.
If the buy exceeds the budget after included charges, reduce the selected media or agree and update the budget before sharing. Client budget and commission handling currently supports USD campaigns.
Changing settings does not rewrite a proposal already shared. Share a new version if the client needs to approve different figures. See share a client proposal for the approval steps.
