What are booking fees?

A booking fee is a percentage of your campaign subtotal that Tap charges when you Verify and Buy. It covers running the marketplace, supplier coordination, billing, and the Supplier Guarantee on Book now rates. Fees are itemised on every checkout — what you see is what you pay. ## Tiered booking fee The fee rate steps down as your campaign grows: | Campaign subtotal | Booking fee | | --- | --- | | $1 – $99,999 | 10% | | $100,000 – $499,999 | 9% | | $500,000 – $999,999 | 8% | | $1,000,000 – $4,999,999 | 7% | | $5,000,000 – $9,999,999 | 6% | | $10,000,000+ | 5% | The fee is calculated on the **media subtotal** (after any term, volume, and deal discounts) and shown as a separate line at checkout. ## Payment processing fees On top of the booking fee, the payment method you choose has its own processing cost: - **Card** (credit / debit) — 3% + $0.30 per transaction - **US bank account (ACH)** — 0.8%, capped at $5.00 per transaction - **Net 30 invoicing** — no processing fee For larger campaigns, ACH or Net 30 are dramatically cheaper than card. ## Worked example A $250,000 campaign on a Book now plan, paid by ACH: - Media subtotal: $250,000 - Booking fee (9%): $22,500 - ACH processing (0.8% capped at $5): $5 - **Total charged:** $272,505 The supplier is paid the media subtotal under the Supplier Guarantee. The booking fee is Tap's portion. ## Why a fee at all Tap is free to use until you book. The booking fee is how the marketplace is funded — covering live rate-card data, plan-confirmation with suppliers, payment + invoicing, post-campaign reporting infrastructure, and standing behind every Book now rate.
